INVESTMENT SERVICE CENTER’S OPENING – PPA

The first platform for cooperation between Poland and the United Arab Emirates (www.investpl.eu) has just been opened!

On 12 October 2016, an official conference inaugurating opening of Investment Service Center was held in Warsaw. The platform aims at attracting investment from the UAE to Poland, encouraging Polish entrepreneurs to cooperate with the United Arab Emirates as well as supporting the economic, tourist and scientific cooperation between the countries” – said the Ambassador of the UAE in Poland Yousif Eisa Hassan Eisa AlSabri during the press conference.

The conference was opened with the speech of Prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Opolski – the President of Emirates & Europe Business Development Cluster (EEBD) and the chairman of the ISC Expert Council; Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Poland, His Excellency Yousif Eisa Hassan Eisa AlSabri; as well as Mr. Włodzimierz Kuc, the representative of the National Centre for Research and Development.

The creation of Investment Service Center was an answer to the current economic and trade situation between Poland and the UAE. Its main goal is to create long-lasting cooperation connections and business relations between the partners. During the conference, the President of EEBD Cluster – Prof. Krzysztof Opolski – presented ten the most important reasons for which Poland is a place attractive in terms of investments. He enumerated, among others, steady economic growth, safe and stable financial sector, relatively young and well-educated working power as well as, according to Opolski, one of the most important reasons being expert assimilation of rules functioning in Europe.

The Investment Service Center is in charge of development of governmental and business projects. During the conference, areas of its activity were presented. They include:

• search for innovative investment projects as well as complex and professional support in their implementation,
• technology expansion and acceleration of startups, combining innovative technologies offered by entrepreneurs with capital from investors,
• creation of cooperation network with the aim of developing startup projects and providing them with necessary infrastructure and mentoring,
• scientific and research exchange in cooperation with governmental institutions and representatives of local governments,
• organization of Economic Mission – an example of which is, among other, the Economic Mission for GITEX Technology Week, co-organized with the Ministry of Science, in which 24 young but having huge potential companies participated.

Moreover, the ISC as a part of its activity, has a longstanding cooperation with a dozen biggest investment funds in the world, which finance business projects. What is more, it carries out activity in countries such as: the United Arab Emirates, Croatia, Spain , Belgium, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, the United States, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, India, China and others.

The conference was attended by representatives of institutions such as: the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, the National Centre for Research and Development, the Emirates Airlines, the National Chamber of Commerce, the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency S.A. as well as representatives of the public administration institutions.
